SuGar Pinoy is a site where Filipinos all over the world can get relevant information on working, living and succeeding in Singapore. It contains articles about getting a job, getting around the country, how to survive, good things and bad things about working abroad and everything else in between.

Many Pinoys are aspiring to work in this rich city-state because of its vibrant economy, multi-racial culture and high paying jobs. Moreover, its close proximity to the Philippines makes it an attractive work destination as going back and forth their home country becomes easier.

By the way, why SuGar Pinoy you ask? You will notice, “S” and “G” are capitalized, SG means Singapore, got it? But that’s just secondary. The main reason for the site name is because sugar puts the good flavor in food, much like what Pinoy does to the world, it puts the good flavor.


About the Author:

Darwin is the author and owner of SuGar Pinoy website. He put up this site to share his practical experiences about working and living in this tiny but rich city-state. Having seen many individuals who tried their luck to work abroad, selling off precious properties and using hard-earned savings, only to go back penniless, jobless and deep in debt, he promised himself that he will do his share to help his fellow “kababayan” reach their dream of working abroad without having to risk a lot. The key he said is “to be armed with all the right information”.

Darwin currently works in an Information Technology firm in Singapore specializing in Manpower Outsourcing. Previous to that, he handles Business Consulting of a multinational Executive Search and Headhunting firm headquartered in Singapore. During his free time, he conducts freelance seminars and provides consulting services about getting a job in Singapore. His no-nonsense, non-legal, purely practical tips make his lectures really interesting and useful.
